Privacy Policy

Kalei is a private photo-sharing service for events, operated by PhiloticLabs. This policy explains what we collect and why — in plain language, because there isn't much.
Hosts give us an email address (to sign in and receive the reveal notification) and the event details they enter. Guests give us only a display name; guests never create an account and we never ask for their email or phone number.
Photos taken in a roll are stored privately and are only visible to the event's participants after the reveal. Location metadata (GPS) is never collected — photos are re-encoded on the device before upload, which strips it. Albums are not indexed by search engines and are reachable only through their unguessable event link.
Deletion: when a host deletes a roll, all its photos are permanently removed within 30 days. Guests can request removal of photos they took (or that show them) via the report button or by contacting us. Albums expire and are purged automatically after their retention window.
We use no advertising trackers. Analytics, if any, are first-party and minimal. We share data with our processors only to run the service: Supabase (hosting & storage, EU region), Vercel (app hosting) and Resend (host emails).
